I Only Do 5 Things – A Lesson in Clarity

February 20, 20251 min read

At Family Reunion (a KW industry event I’ve been attending), Richard Ruvin shared a message so simple yet powerful that it stuck with me instantly.

His approach? He only does 5 things.

When working with clients, he guides them through these five essential questions:

1️⃣ What should we do to get it ready?
2️⃣ When should we go to market?
3️⃣ How should we price it?
4️⃣ What should we do if we get an offer?
5️⃣ What should we do if we don’t get an offer?

That’s it. No fluff—just absolute clarity. And it works. His team closes over 200 transactions a year, proving that keeping things simple and direct is often the best approach.

Hearing this made me step back and ask: How can I distill my own value so clearly for my clients? Because at the end of the day, clarity is power.
