Goal Tracking with the 4-1-1 Worksheet

June 04, 20251 min read

How do you set goals? Where do you track your goals, and what is your cadence for accountability around them? There are many tools you could use, but one of the simplest and most enduring is the 4-1-1. This stands for 4 weeks, 1 month, 1 year. It’s a way to think through goals at an annual level, then drill down to a monthly level, and finally to the weekly actions needed to hit those monthly goals.

The 4-1-1 goal-setting document is simple and effective because it outlines both personal and professional goals. When our team is at its best, we are crystal clear on our professional goals with our team members. But we also focus on their personal goals, supporting and encouraging them in areas that matter most. Whether it’s health and fitness or strengthening relationships with family, our support can make a significant impact.

Here’s a link to download this simple one-page tool. It’s not the only one, but if you’re not using a tool to track your goals or facilitate goal-setting conversations with your team, give this one a try!
